Raised across the Pacific — the Solomon Islands, Kiribati — Jan Barwick's work carries a lifelong devotion to colour, shaped further by years in Africa, Florida, and the Caribbean. Now based in southwest France, she paints a paradisal, dreamlike world in bold, saturated hues — magic realism with the rhythm of a printmaker. Her art carries new weight: Kiribati is among the first nations threatened by rising seas.
